One of the reasons we love living in central Florida is that it is easy to road trip around FL and see all that this unique state has to offer. We travel occasionally to Jacksonville with my husband for work and on our last trip we spent a few hours at the Colonial Quarter in St. Augustine.

The Miami Children’s Museum provided us with a fun and educational activity one day during our last trip to Miami in the Spring. We stayed downtown for a few days as a sort of layover on our road trip to the Florida Keys. We found that this children’s museum was conveniently located near to our hotel and was easily accessible. We had an awesome visit and definitely plan to visit again on our next trip to the Miami area. Here are the top 5 reasons we feel the Miami Children’s Museum is a great place for families and kids.
Lovely Key West Florida has a lot to offer families. Besides the lovely beaches and quaint vibe of the town there are many opportunities for learning and education: The Lighthouse and Keeper’s Quarters, Fort East Martello and the Custom House. We visited Key West earlier this year and stayed in the famous Mallory Square, walking distance from the Custom House Museum. My girls loved the giant statue at the front of the museum and frequently asked me to take them on a visit to the museum. On our final morning in Key West we visited this small museum.

Earlier this year our family took a trip to the Zoo Miami. We passed through Miami on our way to the Florida Keys on a business trip for my husband. We decided to break up the 7 hour trip from Orlando area to Key West, with a stop in Miami, which is somewhat of a halfway point. The Miami Zoo is at the top of many lists of best places to visit as a family while in the Miami area so we definitely wanted to make a stop there.
On our recent trip aboard Royal Caribbean’s mega ship, the Oasis of the Seas, we decided to try out a larger inside state room. On our previous 7 day cruise vacations we had reserved balcony staterooms but this trip was only 3 days and we wanted to give an inside room a try. We figured that if it became tortuous, we’d be able to endure it for 72 hours. Plus, we expected to be out and about most of the time, exploring every nook and cranny of the ship and figured we could stick it out.
