Xcaret is an incredible cultural, eco park located in Riviera Maya. If you are visiting Riviera Maya for any length of time, it is totally worth it to include a visit to Xcaret in your itinerary. The park offers a bounty of activities for visitors including an opportunity to swim in the cenote rivers weaving through the park. We compiled a list of tips that should help you plan well for your swim through the rivers at Xcaret.
Norwegian Escape is an awesome ship for families and we were able to sail to the Eastern Caribbean with the kids in the fall of 2016. The first two days onboard were sea days and we thoroughly enjoyed our time exploring the ship and even found opportunities to complete school work (homeschool travels FTW!!).
Tortola is a quiet, beautiful island in the British Virgin Islands of the Caribbean. It is a common cruise port and features many quiet resorts for vacationers wanting a relaxed vacation with lush mountain views and beautiful beaches. One of the best ways to experience the beauty of this island is to take a zipline canopy tour! Here are my top 3 reasons to try a Canopy Tour when visiting Tortola…
Hubby and I visited the Virgin Islands in Summer 2016 and instantly fell in love with these beautiful, picturesque islands. We flew in and out of St. Thomas and though we spent the majority of our vacation on Scrub Island off the coast of Tortola, we did spend one night prior to our return at the Ritz Carlton on St. Thomas. One night just wasn’t enough and I was immediately enamored with this wonderful resort. I decided to write a post outlining the amazing property and what I loved most about staying there.
We enjoy cruising as a family. Living in Central Florida makes it easy and economical because we don’t have flight costs on top of our cruise fare. I sailed on the Norwegian Escape in October of 2016. Our first morning onboard was sunny and clear. Hurricane Matthew was gearing up strength in another part of the Caribbean but our skies were blue and the ocean breeze was SO refreshing.
Earlier this fall we spent a long weekend in the South Gulf Coast of FL. We love the Gulf Coast beaches in St Petersburg and Sarasota area and we wanted to visit the Southern Gulf. We stayed on lovely Marco Island, just south of Naples. On our final day of the weekend we drove up to Delnor Wiggins State Park; this park was recommended to us by the staff at the awesome Holiday Inn Sunset Cove as one of the most beautiful beach parks in the Naples area.
As relatively new Florida residents (we have been Floridians for 3 years now) we are still enjoying our exploration of the wonders of our new home state. We have wanted to visit the South Gulf side of Florida and we decided to spend a long weekend at the Holiday Inn Sunset Cove on Marco Island. We were amazed by the incredible value and quality of this Holiday Inn Vacation Club! Here are our top 5 reasons we know you’ll love this resort too:
The Miami Children’s Museum provided us with a fun and educational activity one day during our last trip to Miami in the Spring. We stayed downtown for a few days as a sort of layover on our road trip to the Florida Keys. We found that this children’s museum was conveniently located near to our hotel and was easily accessible. We had an awesome visit and definitely plan to visit again on our next trip to the Miami area. Here are the top 5 reasons we feel the Miami Children’s Museum is a great place for families and kids.
Most of you probably know by now that we are a homeschool family. For any parent with school age kids you know that each new year brings fresh excitement and new challenges. Since we’ve been on this homeschool “journey” as a family we have been blessed to have great support and success with our kids, which we don’t take for granted.
