Tortola is a quiet, beautiful island in the British Virgin Islands of the Caribbean. It is a common cruise port and features many quiet resorts for vacationers wanting a relaxed vacation with lush mountain views and beautiful beaches. One of the best ways to experience the beauty of this island is to take a zipline canopy tour! Here are my top 3 reasons to try a Canopy Tour when visiting Tortola…
Fun for the whole family
The canopy tour on Tortola is an upgraded version of ziplining, which has become popular in much of the Caribbean and Central/South America. The expert staff are fully equipped to handle families and groups of all ages! The zipline tour of about 7 traversing lines takes about 1-2 hours, depending on the size of your group. We were fortunate to be the only persons in our group so we were able to enjoy the tour at our own pace.
Lush mountains and views at Canopy Tours
I cannot put into words how stunning the views were from the heights of the canopy tour. From the lush rolling mountains, dotted with village homes, to the beauty of the sea in the distance and the town below, the views from the heights were just breathtaking!
Expert staff
The staff at Virgin Canopy Tours were exceptional and a whole lot of fun! We were fortunate to visit on a quiet day and had the entire tour to ourselves (we purposefully planned to visit on a day when there were no cruise ships in port and the island was much quieter).
The staff trained us in depth at the beginning of the tour and were expert guides as we went along the course. They made jokes, kept the spirits light and even gave us unique information about Tortola and the island surrounding it. These guys were naturally sweet and talented in what they do and it was a pleasure to join them for the day.
If you are on the island of Tortola at all you MUST spend part of your day with Virgin Canopy Tours. It’s truly an experience not to be missed. We can’t wait to go back and take the kids with us next time!
