The Tusker House Buffet at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park

Animal Kingdom is one of our favorite parks at Walt Disney World in Florida.  We love the variety of activities there including the animal exhibits, excellent musical production shows and the Mount Everest roller coaster.  One of our favorite things to do at Disney’s Animal Kingdom park is to catch a meal at the awesome Tusker House buffet located in the Africa neighborhood. Cruising In An Inside Stateroom As A Family On Oasis of the Seas

On our recent trip aboard Royal Caribbean’s mega ship, the Oasis of the Seas, we decided to try out a larger inside state room.  On our previous 7 day cruise vacations we had reserved balcony staterooms but this trip was only 3 days and we wanted to give an inside room a try.  We figured that if it became tortuous, we’d be able to endure it for 72 hours.  Plus, we expected to be out and about most of the time, exploring every nook and cranny of the ship and figured we could stick it out.

Dinner at the Solarium Bistro aboard Royal Caribbean’s Oasis of the Seas

Hubby and I loved to spend time in the adults-only Solarium area aboard the Oasis of the Seas.  There is a restaurant there which serves meals three times a day.  Breakfast and lunch buffet are complimentary but dinner is truly special occasion that often requires reservations and carries a $20 per person charge.  Our experience was absolutely delightful and we found the fee perfectly reasonable for the quality and amount of food we received.

Disembarkation Day on the Oasis of the Seas

The morning of our last day on the Oasis arrived with mild tears from our girls who either didn’t want to get up or were missing their new friends from Adventure Ocean already.  We arose around 7:45am and dressed quickly.  We discussed our breakfast options for that day (Windjammer, Park Cafe, American Icon Dining Room) and decided to avoid the buffet altogether and head to the dining room.

Discovering the Incredible Orlando Science Center

We absolutely love the Orlando Science Center.  It is located downtown in a central location and easy to get to from many parts of the Orlando area.  We discovered it prior to our official move to Florida; we used to visit Orlando for a few weeks in the winter each year after our girls were born and we fell in love with the center/children’s museum that offered both learning adventures and play fun for kids.

Adventure Ocean aboard Royal Caribbean’s Oasis of the Seas

We had only traveled once before with children on a Royal Caribbean ship prior to sailing on the Oasis of the Seas.  Our trip on the Enchantment of the Seas, one of RC’s older ships had a modest kids area which the kids thoroughly enjoyed.  Royal Caribbean is one of the most popular family friendly brands so i had anticipated that the kids facilities would be in line with the audacious standards of the Oasis of the Seas.

Oasis of the Seas Day 3 Travelogue

The third  day of our cruise aboard Royal Caribbean’s Oasis of the Seas was a sea day; we were slowly  making our way back to Fort Lauderdale and would be arriving the next morning.  We slept in a bit, thanks to the perpetual darkness of our inside stateroom.  Today we decided to go to Johnny Rockets for breakfast and skip the Windjammer.  As much as we loved the food offerings there we wanted to avoid the inevitable crowds.  Johnny Rockets serves complimentary breakfast every day so we figured we’d give it a try, though we are not typically fans of diner food.
